Certificate Course in Interventional Radiology at Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, India

Department Introduction


The Interventional Radiology (IR) department at Max Super Speciality hospital Saket conducts a variety basic and advanced interventions both non-vascular and vascular. The department is equipped with Bi-plane DSA unit, one fluoroscopy unit and two dedicated USG scanners.


Course Introduction


The course offers training in all Vascular & Non-vascular Interventional Radiology procedures with special focus on hepato-biliary and liver transplant related interventions. During their training the students are encouraged to actively participate in the procedures and get hands on experience as well. Students are actively involved in day to day work of the department including history taking, physical examination and pre and post procedure management of the patient.


Duration of course: 6 Months


Eligibility Criteria


Minimum 1-year experience/Fellowship in interventional radiology is mandatory. Candidate is expected to have basic knowledge and skills in intervention radiology before starting this advanced certificate course.


The applicant must have specialty training in Radiology (MD/DNB/DMRD) from an MCI/NMC recognised Institute is eligible.


For International applicants MCI/NMC approval, student visa, FRRO approval will be required as per regulations.



Course Objectives & Learning outcomes


At the end of the course, the student is expected be able to independently perform advanced vascular and non-vascular procedures besides having acquired knowledge and skills in patient selection, pre and post procedure patient management and handling of complications.

The course includes emergency calls and night shifts to expose the fellow to emergencies in the interventional radiology.


The student will be posted in the below areas as per requirement:

-           Outpatient department

-           USG interventional suite

-           DSA/Cath lab

-           CT/Fluoroscopy interventions

-           Besides, bedside procedures are done in almost all ICUs.


Research


The fellow is required to write a case report/original article under supervision.
